Formal entrance requirementsYou must either have the German "Fachhochschulreife" or its equivalent, e.g. qualifications such as the International Baccalaureate or the English "A" levels. As a rule, this requires the successful completion of 12–13 years of school education in your home country. Applicants from some countries also need to have begun or even completed further studies. As the degree is taught in English, you need to have reached level B2 (Common European Framework of Reference) in English.

What can I expect when studying Management in International Business?

The bachelor’s degree course Management in International Business will teach you about modern business and management tools and theories – always with a special focus on international markets, companies, and teams. It has a broad curriculum that allows you to work in any field of International Business Management after graduation. You will bring your English skills to perfection, as you will study 100% in English. At the same time, you will further develop your soft skills by modules such as ‘Presentation Skills’ or ‘Public Speaking and Debating.’

Your fellow students from around the world and lecturers with extensive international business management experience will make you directly feel at home.

To further internationalize your degree, you can partake in our cooperation with Vaasa University of Applied Sciences (VAMK), Finnland to obtain a double degree. After two semesters at our partner university, you will have earned the credits for an additional degree in Business Administration.

How can I combine practical experience with my studies?

All HdWM degree courses are design to prepare you ideally for the job entry. Practical experience is therefore integrated in various ways into the Management in International Business degree program.

In the 4th semester, you will have an 18-week internship that you can either spend in a company in Germany* or abroad. Our Career Network team will support you from the 1st semester on by getting you in touch with our network partners operating in international business management. Also, the team will prepare you for the German and international job market with individual career coaching sessions.

This, and the bachelor’s thesis in the 6th semester of the Management in International Business program, will prepare you for entering the workforce.

Furthermore, you can top off your working experience during your business management course by working voluntarily as a working student on your guaranteed days without lectures during the semester or in the semester breaks.

All lecturers have extensive international business management experience that they readily share with their students. Company visits and real-life business cases enrich the lectures and give valuable insight into business management life.

To give you more room for personal matters or work experience, the BA Management in International Business can also be studied in part-time. We will assemble an individual class schedule with reduced lectures per week. This will elongate your studies, but at the same price as a normal full-time curriculum.


* Please note that German companies expect high proficiency in German from their applicants (B2 level and higher). To be prepared for the German job market, HdWM offers German classes in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut Mannheim

What prospects do I have after my Management in International Business degree?

Building up on your bachelor’s degree in Management in International Business, we offer the English track MA Business Management course. It is also held 100% in English.

After graduating in International Business Management, you will have all the knowledge and skills you need to succeed in a globalized world. How can I apply?

Nothing could be easier than applying for the bachelor’s course in Management in International Business at HdWM. Just send us an email with the following documents to

  • Current CV/resume
  • High school diploma or other university entrance qualification
  • Copy of your ID card or passport
  • Certificate about your language proficiency in English (For non-native speakers of English)


Upon receipt of your documents, the admission office will check your eligibility. If everything is complete and meets the German university entrance qualification, you will receive your study contract. Please sign it and send it back within 14 days – and you are good to go!

At HdWM, we are interested in you as a person and your motivation to study Management in International Business. This is why we do without restricted admission.

Beginning of studies is always on April 1st and October 1st. You can apply up to a year in advance at HdWM. We recommend an early application to make sure, you have enough time for the application and visa process. There is now explicit deadline for an application, but please keep in mind that applying for a visa may take several weeks till months – a process on which we have no bearing.
