In the Soziale Arbeit degree, you develop the techniques of modern social work, foundational psychological competencies, and management and counselling skills that round out your profile for career entry. With an internship in semester four, a practical project (case study) with a partner organisation, and practical modules in later semesters, this Bachelor in Social Work is strongly practice-oriented.

If you completed vocational training before your studies, for example in nursing or elderly care, as an early childhood educator, speech therapist, or certified specialist (Fachwirt*in), we're happy to check whether this lets you skip certain modules. Just get in touch with the study advisory team.

Yes. In cooperation with the Wieslocher Institut für systemische Lösungen (WISL), you can complete training as a systemic counsellor within two years. The training schedule is compatible with the HdWM curriculum and leaves enough room to work alongside your studies.
