Study programmes to match your needs
How we teach, study, and work together at the University of Applied Management Studies (Hochschule der Wirtschaft für Management, HdWM).
Learning as an experience
We consider ourselves as mentors of our students’ professional and personal development. Teaching and studying takes place in small interactive study groups as seminars. Digital teaching- and learning techniques support our students in developing their competences individually and flexibly.
We offer a learning atmosphere that fosters sustainability, supports personal responsibility, in which diversity can be experienced, and creativity be unfurled. Projects and excursions enrich the studies and enhance the contact between fellow-students from Germany and abroad.
The lecturers’ academic expertise and passion for entrepreneurial issues stems from their personal company-, consulting-, and research experience. They support the students in recognising and developing their potentials.
Opportunities to create something new
HdWM offers opportunities for exchange between students, partner companies, as well as experts in research and teaching.
Together, we work towards solutions to current economic and social challenges. Therefore, we rely on scientific findings and apply these in management practice.
Organisations and companies profit from the management expertise of HdWM through further trainings for their staff members. The collaboration with our partner companies receives our highest attention.
Developing competences
Students at HdWM are equipped with the skills for a successful career entry and -advancement. Students and partner companies alike benefit from a close exchange, which HdWM establishes from early on. Our partners appreciate the high practical relevance and the distinguished regard for companies’ needs in the design of our study programmes and (further) education.
A strong team
As a team, our cooperation is marked by fairness, transparency, and integrity. We support each other; every contribution counts. Our behaviour towards each other is constructive and respectful. Personal initiative is welcome and encouraged. We think outside the box. We learn from mistakes.
Practicing diversity
Practiced diversity is the foundation of our values. At our university, people can recognise and develop their potentials regardless of their cultural and social background or individual learning prerequisites. We practice an open and cooperative teaching and studying style.
Quality, sustainability, profitability
The university is built on a solid foundation which is comprised of three pillars: academic studies, partner companies, and further education. We invest into our future and fortify our competitiveness by continuously improving our study programmes and developing new products. We establish efficient and effective processes, use our resources responsibly, and keep up profitable relations with our stakeholders. This is achieved, by consistently reviewing and improving the quality of our teaching, research, further education, and administration.
As an educational institution, the University of Applied Sciences for Management (HdWM) bears a great responsibility for promoting social diversity in the educational landscape. In doing so, HdWM strives to be a role model for students in building and maintaining a diverse and inclusive university community. An equality plan is therefore published every 5 years.
