What can I expect of a master in management at HdWM?

Our highest aim with our master in business management is to prepare you ideally for your successful job entry. From day one, we will integrate real life management expertise into the curriculum of the master’s degree management. Learn from management experts and get in touch with companies of all sizes and fields of business through our Career Network @ HdWM team. They will get you in touch with local and internationally operating companies through job fairs, guest lectures, or company visits during your master in business management. In the 8-week internship, you can put the theories you learnt in the master in management directly into practice.

At HdWM, our master in management is based on a system-oriented management approach. Learn to think beyond departments and business areas. In the master in business management, you will learn to see your company and your work in a whole system that is interwoven with its environment, the market, and its competitors. This approach allows you to develop a sustainable management strategy, which will secure your company’s success over a long period of time.

Lectures take only place on two days per week. The free time is completely at your disposal. You can use it to work as a working student, study for your lectures of the master in business management or take care of personal matters.

At HdWM, we put great emphasis on the personal interaction in our master’s degree management. Therefore, we have interactive seminars and group works to foster your independence and sharpen your ability to form your own opinions. HdWM is a close-knit community, where your lectures’ door is always open for your questions or concerns. Especially, if you come from abroad to study in Germany, this can facility settling in and making Mannheim your new home.

How can I combine my master’s degree management and practice?

Our master in management at HdWM is designed to optimally prepare you for your career entry. Practical experience is therefore integrated into the master’s degree management in various ways.

In addition to an 8-week internship, the Career Network is by your side right from the start to put you in contact with our network partners or to support you with important career coaching sessions. Depending on your career aims, you can participate in a research project on leadership-related topics instead of the internship.

Our professors and lecturers have many years of experience in the business world, which they pass on to students on the master's degree management. Regular guest lectures by company representatives illustrate the application-orientated subject matter.

It is possible to study the master in management full-time or part-time. Even when studying full-time, the seminars and lectures are organized in such a way that you only have lessons two days a week, leaving you time to work alongside your studies.

If studying in full-time does not fit into your life situation currently, we also offer the master in business management on an individual part-time basis. You will receive a personalized schedule and attend fewer lectures per semester. This prolongs your studies but does not increase your tuition fees.

What prospects do I have after the master in management?

With our master's degree management, there are various possible positions in the managing world. Whether you want to gain a foothold as an HR manager, as an IT consultant or in international management, a master’s degree management of HdWM will prepare you to fulfil your career goals.

We offer study programs entirely in English, allowing you to study in Germany even if you are not proficient in German yet. The English tuition language and the international focus of the master in management lay the foundation for an international management career. The master's degree management at HdWM is suitable for graduates of a wide range of bachelor's degrees and offer flexible entrance options through pre-semester and options to recognize previous credits or work experience.

How can I apply?

Nothing could be easier than applying for a master in management at HdWM. Simply send us an email with the following documents to application@hdwm.org:

Your complete academic background in table form
Highschool diploma or other university entrance qualification
Examination results to date
Copy of your identity card

Once we received your documents, they will be assessed by the Admissions Office. If everything is complete and meets the German entrance qualifications, we will send you a study contract. Please sign and return this to us within 14 days. And you are good to go.

We focus on you as a person with your skills and motivation for studying with us. That is why we do not have a closed admission.

Studies in the master in management start on April 1^st and October 1^st. You can apply to the HdWM from one year before the start of the program. We recommend that you apply as early as possible so that you have enough time for the application process. However, there is no fixed application deadline at the HdWM. If you would like to apply shortly before the start of the semester, simply contact the Student Advisory Service and ask for advice on how you can start your HdWM studies in good time.
